Two injured in car-truck crash near Rancho Viejo

RANCHO VIEJO — Two people remarkably escaped serious injuries when their car ended up wedged underneath the trailer of an 18-wheeler.
The crash happened July 22 at about 5:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Expressway 77 near Rancho Viejo. Police have not said how the car ended up underneath the trailer. They also said a third vehicle was involved in the crash, but did not offer details on the other vehicle’s role in the accident.
Two people inside the wedged car were rescued and transported to Valley Regional Medical Center for treatment. The full extent of their injuries was not immediately available. No other injuries were reported.
The crash was still under investigation at this writing.
