The J Gonzalez Legacy of Learning program was created to champion education across the Rio Grande Valley by directly supporting schools and scholastic organizations.
A total of 11 grants will be awarded:
10 recipients will each receive $1,000
1 recipient demonstrating significant financial need will receive a $10,000 grant
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be a Parent, Teacher, or Student applying on behalf of a school or scholastic organization
Applicants should not be employed by or related to the J Gonzalez Injury Attorneys
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Submit a 300-word statement describing the need and impact of funding
Include three relevant photos (e.g., campus, students, or project-related)
ELIGIBLE PROPOSALS
Funding may be used for initiatives beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, including:
Academic programs or enrichment events
Classroom materials and school resources
Campus-based student projects or improvement efforts
CONDITIONS
Funds must be used solely for the approved purpose
Funds are non-transferable and must remain with the awarded school, club, or organization
Recipients agree to:
Submit photos of the initiative or students benefitting from the grant
Provide a follow-up statement outlining how the funds were used
Allow use of submitted content for promotional purposes
WINNER SELECTION & NOTIFICATION
Applications must be submitted by August 31st at our online portal
Recipients will be notified via email after committee review by the week of September 15
Award presentation and check delivery will be scheduled for a later date
Winners must accept the prize within the timeframe specified in the notification email
Checks will be made payable to an organization or school, not an individual
Failure to respond in time may lead to forfeiture and selection of an alternate winner
The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify any prize or the grant program at any time
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The Sponsor is not responsible for technical errors, network issues, or lost/delayed entries
Any tampering with the application process or violation of terms may lead to disqualification
The Sponsor is not liable for any injury, property damage, or loss resulting from participation or use of funds
GENERAL TERMS
By applying, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the grant program at any time, including due to unforeseen circumstances or fraud. Attempts to undermine the fair operation of the program may result in legal consequences.
